.
WHAT ARE OUR PRINCIPLES?
The ABDF Ltd bases its conduct
on the ancient Afrikan principles of MA’AT. MA’AT is associated with the
seven cardinal virtues, the keys to human perfectability: Truth, Righteousness,
Justice, Propriety, Balance, Harmony and Order.
The symbolic representation of
MA’AT as a human figure with outstretched hands and wings is the prototype of
the image of the angel found in the world’s major western religions. The
ostrich feather and the balance are also symbols of MA’AT and the precepts she
represents.
In practical terms this means
that:
-
Each
member (shareholder) has the
right to exercise a vote in respect of the company’s affairs that require
a decision by the shareholders and each vote shall carry equal weight.
-
No
shareholder will acquire greater rights than any other shareholder by virtue
only of their shareholding in the company.
-
The
company will seek to invest ethically and will be ethically minded in its
dealings with businesses, organisations and the environment.
